Version 2.0 — Published 2026
Copyright © 2025–2026 Let’s Fo
All rights reserved.

IMPORTANT: THIS IS A SOURCE-AVAILABLE LICENSE, NOT AN OPEN-SOURCE LICENSE.

By downloading, installing, copying, hosting, accessing, or using Let’s Fo Live, you agree to this License. If you do not agree, do not use the Software.

1. DEFINITIONS

“Let’s Fo,” “Licensor,” “we,” or “us” means Let’s Fo, the owner and licensor of the Software.

“LFL” or “Software” means Let’s Fo Live, including its source code, executable code, scripts, interfaces, documentation, assets, designs, databases, configuration templates, and official updates supplied by Let’s Fo.

“Official Release” means an unmodified version of the Software obtained directly from Let’s Fo or from a download location expressly authorized by Let’s Fo.

“Licensee” or “you” means any individual, business, organization, hosting provider, customer, or other person that downloads, installs, hosts, accesses, or uses the Software.

“Self-Hosting” means operating the Software on infrastructure controlled by you for your own streams, organization, community, or business.

“Managed Hosting” means installing and operating an Official Release for a customer on infrastructure controlled or administered by a hosting provider.

“Hosting Provider” means a person or organization that provides server hosting, installation, administration, maintenance, backup, support, or related infrastructure services to customers.

“Customer Instance” means one installed copy of the Software operated for a particular customer, domain, or streamer identity.

“Configuration” means using documented settings, installer options, environment settings, server paths, permissions, web-server rules, Docker settings, storage settings, cron settings, themes, and other deployment controls without materially changing the Software’s application source code or Protected Features.

“Protected Features” include, without limitation:

- Stream Day activation and activation checks;
- service accounting, balances, payments, and usage controls;
- domain verification and directory registration;
- Nostr identity and ownership checks;
- required Let’s Fo Live attribution and branding;
- backend, API, cron, security, and service-control checks;
- any mechanism intended to enforce access, authorization, payment, identity, limits, or service rules.

“Modification” means altering, deleting, replacing, bypassing, translating, adapting, or creating derivative works from the Software’s application source code. Configuration and infrastructure administration, as defined above, are not Modifications.

2. OWNERSHIP

The Software is the exclusive intellectual property of Let’s Fo and its applicable licensors.

This License grants limited permission to use the Software. It does not transfer ownership, copyright, trademark rights, source-code rights, or any other intellectual-property rights.

All rights not expressly granted in this License are reserved by Let’s Fo.

3. LICENSE GRANT FOR SELF-HOSTING

Subject to this License, Let’s Fo grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to:

- download an Official Release;
- install and operate it on servers or infrastructure controlled by you;
- use it for your own personal, community, organizational, or business streaming activities;
- create reasonable internal backup copies;
- configure it for your own domain and infrastructure.

No software licence fee is required merely to download and operate an Official Release. Separate services used by the Software may require payment.

4. LICENSE GRANT FOR MANAGED HOSTING

Subject to this License, a Hosting Provider may, without requesting separate written permission:

- install and operate Official Releases for customers;
- operate multiple Customer Instances;
- charge customers for hosting, installation, maintenance, backups, administration, support, bandwidth, storage, and related services;
- create internal deployment and backup copies reasonably necessary to provide those services;
- configure LFL for customer domains and supported infrastructure;
- provide a customer with administrative or server access to that customer’s own instance, provided the customer receives no right to redistribute, publish, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Software.

Managed Hosting permission applies only to Official Releases operated in compliance with this License.

A Hosting Provider may not represent hosting charges as the sale of an LFL software licence unless Let’s Fo has expressly authorized that arrangement in writing.

5. CONDITIONS FOR MANAGED HOSTING

A Hosting Provider must:

- retain the required Let’s Fo Live attribution;
- preserve all Protected Features;
- use reasonable security practices;
- protect cron keys, admin keys, databases, customer data, and other secrets;
- ensure that customers are informed that LFL is licensed, not sold;
- include this License with any customer-accessible copy of the Software;
- avoid implying that the Hosting Provider created, owns, or officially represents LFL;
- obtain software updates from Let’s Fo or an expressly authorized source.

A Hosting Provider may advertise truthfully that it offers hosting for Let’s Fo Live. This does not make the provider an official partner, reseller, representative, or affiliate of Let’s Fo unless a separate written agreement says otherwise.

6. CONFIGURATION AND INFRASTRUCTURE ADAPTATION

You may perform Configuration necessary to install and securely operate the Software, including:

- changing domains, paths, permissions, and environment values;
- configuring Nginx, Apache, PHP, SQLite, Docker, storage, DNS, HTTPS, backups, and cron;
- using documented Admin and installer settings;
- adding provider identification as permitted by Section 9;
- applying site-level styling through documented or approved configuration methods.

Configuration must not:

- remove, disable, bypass, conceal, spoof, or replace any Protected Feature;
- change the Software into a white-labelled or differently branded product;
- create a competing product or distributable derivative;
- falsely imply ownership or authorship.

Except with prior written permission from Let’s Fo, you may not Modify the Software’s application source code.

Bug reports, requested changes, and proposed patches may be submitted privately to Let’s Fo for review.

7. PROHIBITED USES

Unless Let’s Fo gives prior written permission, you may not:

- redistribute the Software or make it available for others to download;
- upload or publish the Software or its source code to a public repository;
- sell, sublicense, lease, or license copies of the Software;
- bundle the Software with another product for redistribution;
- create or distribute forks, patches, modified editions, or derivative works;
- offer a modified or white-labelled version as a hosted service;
- remove, replace, obscure, or conceal required attribution;
- rebrand LFL or claim authorship or ownership;
- use LFL source code, designs, or substantial components in another platform or competing product;
- extract and reuse LFL code in another commercial or public project;
- provide a standalone source-code package to customers or third parties;
- remove or disable Stream Day activation;
- bypass, spoof, forge, or interfere with activation, accounting, payment, identity, verification, directory, backend, API, or service checks;
- misrepresent usage, ownership, domain control, streamer identity, or payment state;
- interfere with service accounting tied to Nostr public keys;
- use the Software to gain unauthorized access to Let’s Fo systems or third-party systems;
- use Let’s Fo branding in a way that implies sponsorship, certification, partnership, or endorsement without written permission.

Private possession of the source code does not grant permission to publish, redistribute, modify, or create derivative works from it.

8. NO CIRCUMVENTION

You may not directly or indirectly circumvent a Protected Feature.

This prohibition includes instructing, assisting, paying, or encouraging another person to:

- remove activation requirements;
- forge activation or account state;
- bypass payment or usage controls;
- disable domain or identity verification;
- conceal or remove attribution;
- alter requests or data to obtain unauthorized service;
- create a substitute backend intended to defeat LFL controls or service rules.

Interoperability with supported third-party services is permitted when performed through documented or ordinarily available interfaces and without circumventing Protected Features.

9. ATTRIBUTION, BRANDING, AND HOSTING-PROVIDER IDENTIFICATION

Every public-facing Customer Instance must retain visible attribution substantially equivalent to:

“Powered by Let’s Fo Live 🔵”

The attribution must remain reasonably visible, readable, and accessible. You may adjust its colour, size, placement, or surrounding design only if it remains clearly visible and is not misleading.

You may not:

- remove the attribution;
- hide it through styling, overlays, low contrast, or inaccessible placement;
- replace it with your own authorship claim;
- alter it to imply that another party created LFL.

A Hosting Provider may add a separate truthful line such as:

“Hosted by [Hosting Provider Name]”

The hosting-provider line may appear below or beside the LFL attribution. It must not replace, obscure, or be presented as the creator attribution.

This License grants only the limited right to display Let’s Fo and Let’s Fo Live names and marks as necessary for required attribution and truthful identification of compatible hosting services. No other trademark licence is granted.

10. CUSTOMER ACCESS AND CONTROL

A Hosting Provider may decide whether a customer receives SSH, SFTP, control-panel, or server-file access to that customer’s instance.

Providing such access does not grant the customer any right to:

- redistribute the Software;
- publish the source code;
- remove Protected Features;
- create a fork or derivative work;
- transfer the Software to another party except as part of a lawful migration of that customer’s own instance.

A lawful customer migration may include transferring that customer’s installed instance and private data to another server or hosting provider, provided the receiving party agrees to this License and the Software is not offered as a general download or redistribution.

11. SERVICES AND BACKEND SEPARATION

The Software may interact with services operated by Let’s Fo or third parties, including:

- Stream Day activation;
- streaming backends;
- account balances;
- payment systems;
- provider APIs;
- directory services;
- storage and media services.

Those services are separate from this software licence and may:

- require payment;
- have separate terms and privacy policies;
- be tied to a Nostr public key, domain, account, or provider;
- impose limits, pricing, or technical requirements;
- change, become unavailable, or be discontinued.

Running the Software does not guarantee access to any backend or third-party service.

12. PAYMENTS AND PROVIDER FEES

A Hosting Provider may charge for hosting and related operational services.

Payments to a Hosting Provider do not purchase ownership of LFL or an independent right to redistribute, modify, or sublicense the Software.

Payments for Let’s Fo services, Stream Days, backends, balances, usage, or other service features are separate from hosting fees and may be governed by additional terms.

Unless otherwise stated by the applicable service provider, payments for consumed or activated digital services may be non-refundable.

13. UPDATES AND FUTURE VERSIONS

Let’s Fo may:

- publish updates, fixes, or new versions;
- change features, services, pricing, compatibility, or system requirements;
- issue a new licence for future versions;
- offer alternative or commercial licences;
- dual-license some or all components;
- discontinue distribution or support.

Each version remains governed by the licence included with that version unless you accept a later licence or separate written agreement.

Let’s Fo has no obligation to provide updates, migrations, support, hosting, or continued service availability.

14. CONTRIBUTIONS AND FEEDBACK

You may privately submit bug reports, ideas, documentation, or code changes to Let’s Fo.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, by submitting a contribution you grant Let’s Fo a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, transferable, sublicensable, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, modify, distribute, publish, commercialize, and incorporate the contribution into LFL or other Let’s Fo products.

Submitting a contribution does not grant you any right to publish or distribute the Software or a modified version.

15. COMPLIANCE AND WRITTEN EXCEPTIONS

Permissions not expressly granted require prior written authorization from Let’s Fo.

A written exception must identify the permitted party and scope. Permission for one project, customer, or version does not automatically apply to another.

Let’s Fo may offer separate agreements for:

- white-label deployments;
- custom modifications;
- commercial redistribution;
- bundling;
- official partnerships;
- reseller arrangements;
- source-code development rights.

16. TERM AND TERMINATION

This License begins when you first download, install, host, access, or use the Software.

Let’s Fo may terminate this License if you breach it.

For a breach that can reasonably be corrected, Let’s Fo may provide written notice and a reasonable opportunity to cure.

Termination may be immediate for intentional:

- redistribution;
- public source-code publication;
- circumvention of Protected Features;
- removal of required attribution;
- white-labelling;
- creation or distribution of a competing derivative product;
- unauthorized sale or sublicensing.

Upon termination, you must:

- stop using and hosting the Software;
- stop offering new Customer Instances;
- delete unauthorized copies;
- remove unauthorized publications and distributions;
- preserve customer data long enough to permit a reasonable lawful export where technically and legally possible.

Sections concerning ownership, restrictions, contributions, warranty, liability, indemnity, governing law, and enforcement survive termination.

17. ENFORCEMENT

Unauthorized copying, redistribution, publication, circumvention, rebranding, or use of LFL code in another product may cause harm that is difficult to measure.

To the extent permitted by law, Let’s Fo may seek injunctive or equitable relief in addition to any other available remedies.

Failure to enforce a provision once does not waive the right to enforce it later.

18. NO WARRANTY

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OR CONDITIONS OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LET’S FO DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, SECURITY, RELIABILITY, ACCURACY, COMPATIBILITY, AND AVAILABILITY.

YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR TESTING, SERVER CONFIGURATION, SECURITY, BACKUPS, DATA PROTECTION, LEGAL COMPLIANCE, AND OPERATION OF YOUR DEPLOYMENT.

19. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LET’S FO AND ITS CONTRIBUTORS, SERVICE PROVIDERS, AND AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, PUNITIVE, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, BUSINESS, SERVICE, OR OPPORTUNITY.

LET’S FO IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR:

- SERVER MISCONFIGURATION;
- SECURITY INCIDENTS;
- DATA LOSS;
- DOWNTIME;
- PAYMENT OR FINANCIAL LOSS;
- CUSTOMER CLAIMS;
- THIRD-PARTY SERVICE FAILURES;
- RELAY, BACKEND, HOSTING, WALLET, STORAGE, OR NETWORK FAILURES;
- MODIFICATIONS OR CONFIGURATIONS MADE BY A LICENSEE;
- UNAUTHORIZED USE OF KEYS OR CREDENTIALS.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LET’S FO’S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING FROM THE SOFTWARE OR THIS LICENSE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF:

- THE AMOUNT PAID DIRECTLY TO LET’S FO FOR THE SOFTWARE LICENCE DURING THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM; OR
- ONE HUNDRED CANADIAN DOLLARS (CAD $100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations. In those jurisdictions, these provisions apply only to the maximum extent permitted.

20. INDEMNITY

To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Let’s Fo and its contributors, service providers, and affiliates from third-party claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and reasonable legal fees arising from:

- your hosting or operation of the Software;
- your customer relationships;
- your breach of this License;
- your configuration, security, content, data handling, or services;
- your violation of law or third-party rights;
- unauthorized modifications, redistribution, or circumvention.

21. GOVERNING LAW AND VENUE

This License is governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Subject to any law that requires otherwise, the courts located in Alberta, Canada have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from this License or the Software.

The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.

22. SEVERABILITY

If a provision of this License is found invalid or unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted, and the remaining provisions will continue in effect.

23. ASSIGNMENT

You may not assign or transfer this License except as part of a lawful transfer of your entire business or a lawful migration of a Customer Instance, and only if the receiving party accepts this License.

Let’s Fo may assign this License and its rights to a successor, affiliate, purchaser, or entity acquiring the Software or related business.

24. ENTIRE AGREEMENT

This License is the complete agreement concerning the Software unless you and Let’s Fo sign a separate written agreement.

Documentation, website statements, support messages, and informal communications do not modify this License unless they expressly state that they are a written licence exception authorized by Let’s Fo.
